Proposed Roles of Each Alliance Partner
This is an initial estimate of how the Water Pressure Alliance (WP Alliance) may work. It is not prescriptive, but indicative. The Alliance, when assembled, will define the following roles for itself:
- Steering group: to direct and oversee the project on behalf of the WP Alliance.
- Campaign team: recruited to deliver the project.
- Ally Representatives: we suggest that each participating organisation will second one person to represent it in the WP Alliance. They will join the WP Alliance steering group. This will not be a full-time engagement, except, perhaps initially, to set up the campaign.
Proposed Responsibilities of Water Pressure Alliance partners
The Alliance steering group must address:
- composition of the overall project: scope and organising principles
- the role of the steering group itself, i.e:
- mandate
- set of objectives
- schedule for the campaign
- initial seed funding to get started
- setup of the campaign team: mandate; objectives; schedule
- roles for the campaign team
- campaign team contracts
- recruitment of the campaign team principals:
- Project Manager
- Media & Messaging Lead
- Finance and Funding Lead
- Communities Liaison Lead
- the campaign team leads will recruit for their teams within the campaign
- host regular review meetings
- to receive progress reports from campaign principals
- to take campaign decisions
It is likely that these tasks would mean steering group members committing to:
- an initial week (5 days) to establish the steering group and define the campaign team and its functions (including initial administration, management systems, policies and procedures)
- an interval for recruitment, then a second week to interview candidates for the principal roles and appoint people to these
- a suggested two hours for campaign review meetings (fortnightly) for the duration of the campaign
